I run a small portable bandmill service for southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. I have competitive rates, and as long as you dont mind getting your hands dirty I would love for you to join in on the action. It is a great learning experience and great feeling, knowing that you took your next project from tree to heirloom. I work hard to get the most out of your logs and will go into great detail, if desired, in explaining the milling process from first-cut to finish-drying with tips and techniques. I also go over different types of sawing for figure and/or stability. I love to uncover the true hidden beauty of wood; the stuff you cannot find at the big box stores.
Manual Bandmill, no hydraulics. 36" max log diameter, 30" max cut width. 12ft max log length unless specified. With bed extension can cut 20ft.

Timber Beast Sawmilling offers portable sawmilling and lumber sales to the Wisconsin and the U.P. area. We have experience cutting a wide variety of dimensions and jobs. Our Woodmizer LT 40 Super Hydraulic Mill will lift the logs onto the mill and turn them into position for sawing. We can handle logs as wide as 3 feet diameter with a 22 inch wide cut at the blade. Logs can range from 4 feet to 20 feet long.
We charge $55 an hour with an average cutting rate of 200-250 board feet an hour cutting 4/4 lumber. Speed of cutting varies depending on the species and size of logs. (These numbers can be obtained only if you provide 1-2 helpers to offload the lumber from the mill. We can sometimes provide 1 off loader at a rate of $15 per hour.)
Timber Beast Sawmilling can come to you and mill at your site or you can haul your logs to our place. If you haul your logs to us we charge $0.20 per board foot ($200 per thousand bd/ft).

Hi my name is Andy and I offer a fully custom sawing service that can cut logs up to 36" in diameter and 20' long. I can also cut 34" live edge slabs.
The price is as follows,
It is $0.50 a board foot if you bring it to me and that is for a milled board foot (what that means is your are not paying to have the waste of the log taken off)
If I hit any metal in a board that I am cutting for you and the blade is broken the blade charge is $40 and a $15 charge if the blade can be sharpened.
If I travel to you the trip charge is $150 plus a minimum board foot charge of $250(minimum of 500 board feet). When I travel to you the logs will have to be in one neat pile where I can pull my mill right up to them and start milling. It works best if they are on 4x4's so that they roll nice up to the mill. If you have a skid steer then getting the logs to the mill will not be a problem. If I have to move the mill from log to log there will be a $50 moving fee for every time I have to re-level the mill. When I come to you to cut at least two people need to be there to help stack the wood with me and help get the logs on the mill.
If you do not have people available I can provide someone for a fee of $25 Per hour.
You are responsible for the clean up of the cutoffs and the sawdust for the mill. I am also not responsible for and unnecessary lawn damage.
The logs must be clean! That means no heavy amounts of mud or stones stuck or imbedded in the logs. It the logs are abnormally dirty there will be a $15 charge for re-sharpening of the blade per blade used.
I also am able to get the wood kiln dried for you at an additional cost.
I expect CASH on pick up of wood.
